What is the difference of Powered vs. free?

Powered overhead conveyors utilize an electric motor to drive the system and move materials along the track. This is a very energy efficient means of powering the system, having near-negligible energy consumption. Powered systems can also be automated, which can be especially useful in factories that already implement automation in other areas.Manually operated — often referred to as ''free'' — overhead conveyors require manual labor to move materials along the track. Free conveyors are most effective for large, heavy materials, especially if a high level of precision is necessary.Combined ''power and free'' overhead systems also exist, which combine a powered track and a free track. The powered track pulls trolleys along the free track, which can be started and stopped at certain points with a blade stop. These are preferred for high volume systems that need a high level of reliability and durability — such as those in the automotive industry.CamelConvey has advanced manufacturing technology and a professional engineering team to provide customers with customized solutions. What is an overhead conveyor system?

In the case of overhead conveyors, the name says it all: They're conveyor systems that operate above workers and other equipment, utilizing overhead space that would otherwise remain empty. Overhead conveyors typically consist of a continuous chain circuit that runs through the entire track, carriers that are used to handle the material, and a motor in the case of electrically driven systems. Each powered overhead conveyor consists of: A continuous circuit of chain running through track and a variety of vertical and horizontal curves. A Drive unit that grabs the chain and pull it through the track. The chain uses roller bearings to move along the track with minimal friction, and a take-up is used to maintain proper tension on the chain over the service life of the system.CamelConvey provides overhead conveyor systems designed for a wide range of industrial material handling operations and offers kinds of open overhead conveyor chains, like X348,X458,X678 chain and some enclosed track chains, like 5T, 7T or 8'' chain. They all widely used in the coating line and painting system.CamelConvey has advanced manufacturing technology and a professional engineering team to provide customers with customized solutions. What's the difference between open overhead conveyor chain and enclosed chain in the painting line?

To act as a guide for the chain & materials being moved. CamelConvey offers kinds of open overhead conveyor chains, like X348 chain, X458 chain, X678 chain and some enclosed track chains, like 5T, 7T or 8" chain. They all widely used in the coating line and painting system. The track of a conveyor system serves the same function whether open or enclosed — to act as a guide for the chain & materials being moved. However, open tracks are simpler to install and are capable of holding more weight per carrier than enclosed tracks. The advantage of enclosed tracks is added protection from environmental effects, which is especially useful in applications like painting that can damage the chain over time if left exposed. Typically, asynchronous systems are unpowered and synchronous systems powered, but there are exceptions.CamelConvey has advanced manufacturing technology and a professional engineering team to provide customers with customized solutions. What are the advantages of overhead conveyor systems in the assembly line?

Assembly Conveyor Line Generally, the chains in the assembly conveyor line are mainly overhead conveyor chains. CamelConvey offers kinds of open overhead conveyor chains, like X348,X458,X678 chain and some enclosed track chains, like 5T, 7T or 8'' chain. The biggest of these benefits is employee safety. By moving conveyor overhead, employees are able to work without the risk of moving materials hitting them or otherwise interfering with their work. Another major benefit to using overhead conveyor systems is more efficient use of space. Instead of taking up significant floor space with a traditional conveyor system, an overhead system makes use of what would otherwise be unused space above the floor. This can allow operations to expand significantly while still operating within the same physical space. Finally, overhead conveyor systems in the assembly line offer a degree of flexibility that allows them to be adapted to work within nearly any material handling operation. With all the different types of overhead conveyors mentioned earlier, along with more unique custom solutions, there's much more freedom to establish the perfect overhead conveyor than with conventional floor conveyors.CamelConvey has advanced manufacturing technology and a professional engineering team to provide customers with customized solutions. What is Power and Free Monorail Conveyor?

Power and Free Monorail conveyors, combine the best features of both non-powered/ manual push, and powered conveyors. These conveyors offer the directional flexibility and manual interaction of the manual push systems, but also can incorporate the powering of product carriers to multiple destinations. Most power and free designs consist of two parallel tracks either configured as “side by side” or “over/under”. These arrangements, which vary by manufacturer, provide for one of the tracks to support the load bearing trolley/ trolleys and carrier/load bar from which the product and/or carrier is suspended. The parallel powered track incorporates drive mechanism and the power chain that provides the motive force. Most often, a chain/trolley attachment (pusher dog assembly) attached to the chain on the power track latches onto a mating provision on the load bearing trolley. This latching feature can be released or reengaged to allow for mechanical control and in the “side by side” configuration can reroute to move the power interface to the other side of the carrier/load bar. Product carriers may be tracked/routed thru the system by several control methods or even by creating and utilizing a carriers’ unique “bar code” or "license plate” identity. At decision points within the system, carriers can be “actively” accumulated, diverted into spur sections, and stopped and/or positioned for automated interface. This can also allow for real time management updates of process elements. Other complex actions such as automatic carrier loading/unloading and carrier rotation can be incorporated into the design. More costly than a straight power overhead monorail conveyor, power and free conveyors incorporate significantly more sophisticated hardware, controls, software, and installation elements but can also provide for a controllable process and reporting system.
